  1. Walk the Line

A stirring biopic of music legend Johnny Cash, this film follows his life from his childhood on a cotton farm through his rise to fame with Sun Records in Memphis. After returning from the military, Cash marries and works as a salesman. But his first love is music. He catches his big break with Sun and tours with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and June Carter. Fame takes its toll on Cash’s marriage, and soon he tries to court the initially disapproving June. Featuring: Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon. A 20th Century Fox release.

Drew Baylor, who designs shoes for a large company, is considered a big success story in his family. But his most recent design flops, and his career takes a nosedive. Without a job and depressed, Drew gets a call from his sister, who says their father has died. The family sends Drew to Elizabethtown, Kentucky, to deal with the funeral arrangements. On his way there he meets Claire, a perky flight attendant, who helps him look at the world through new eyes. Featuring: Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst. A Paramount Pictures release.
